Chinese Style Fried Rice

What to do with left over steamed rice? Well, the best thing to do is to turn it into delicious fried rice which you can enjoy on itself or with other foods.

Ingredients:

4 cups Plain steamed rice

4 cup Large prawns, shelled, deveined, diced

½ cup Mixed vegetables (green peas, carrots, corn kernels)

½ cup Chinese chorizo, cut into small cubes

5 cloves Garlic, minced

1 pc. Onion, medium, thinly sliced

¼ tsp. Freshly ground black pepper

1 tbsp. Fish sauce

½ tsp. Sesame oil

2 tbsp. Safflower oil

1/8 tsp. Turmeric powder

Cooking Instruction

Heat safflower oil in a Teflon wok and sauté the garlic and onion until the garlic is golden brown and the onion starts to caramelize. Add the prawn and the chorizo and cook for about two minutes. Add the vegetables and cook for another two minutes. Add the turmeric powder and mix. Add the rice and stir. Cook for about two minutes with intermittent folding. Add the egg and fold to cook the egg. Add the fish sauce and mix. Cook for another two minutes and serve.
